AV9898 Review

AV9898 is a big movie site containing uncensored Japanese adult videos (JAV). It offers you to download retail porn flicks. So this is a high-bandwidth download site, with high-quality, and large movie files. The design is quite nice, the site is available in both English and Japanese.

There are movies from the following production studios: AV Box (51 movies), Emotion (14), Emperor (2), Matsuri (11), Tokyo Momo (50), Excite Bunny (43), Lips (20), AV Joy (50), Rainbow (10). There’s a separate section for hentai (anime porn) movies, there are 5 of them. A movie is usually 70-80 minutes long, the longer ones are split into two updates with the same name. Still, there’s over 200 quality retail pornos here, it’s quite impressive.

You can browse the movies by studio, category (Teen, Uniform, Hot Girl, Big Tits, Amateur, SM/Toys, Group, Anime, Special). There’s a list of actresses, and complete list of titles, you can select one of those. Finally, the main page has a top 10 movies section, popular actresses, and a list of the latest updates.

I liked the content. It has those perverted asian flicks with a lot of vibrators and fingering. However, there’s also a lot of more mainstream kind of pornos, which are close to the American and European taste. There are some gorgeous asian actresses too. The site has no pictures, except the movie covers, and a few scene shots from each title.

Now most importantly, the quality. The site is first class in this aspect. Format is WMV, with two available bitrates, 1500kbps and 700kbps. The 1500kbps files are lovely quality. One strange thing is that some of the movies are compressed in RAR files. Some people may like that, since the final result is one big file with the movie. Those movies cannot be watched streamed though. The best solution would be to provide both split WMV (5-10 segments), and complete WMV files in my opinion.
The interface was slow for me sometimes, but I had no speed problems when downloading – especially because the site allows you to use more threads to download multiple files at once. A fast connection is needed to be able to enjoy this site.

There are more big sites with a big database of Japanese flicks, but AV9898 is certainly one of the great ones. I can safely recommend it. Membership costs 30$ monthly, or 55$ for three months.

Great news, the prices have changed at AV9898 for the better, and membership is only $9.95 per month now! Also the yearly rate has dropped by a ton, to only $99.50 per year, saving you two months of membership dues on the already ridiculous $9.95 a month.

If you’re at all a fan of Japanese porn, you owe yourself to try AV9898 out. Any excuses have run out I’m afraid.
