Delta of Venus Review

Delta of Venus is an interesting find, and honestly we don’t get many sites like this anymore. A guy named Rob apparently makes this retro and vintage porn site, with videos and photos that go back – way back. What makes it different is that it seems he’s really into this genre, and writes a good deal of information to not only provide dick whacking material, but also educate us on what retro porn is and was all about.

First thing for me after logging in was to download some old movies. There are more than 100 videos on the site, and they’re broken down into 3 sections, logically done in eras. They are: Early silent films from 1920 to 1950, Mid century films from 1950 to 1969, and finally Burlesque and Nudie flicks from 1940 to 1969. All the movies I downloaded were in MOV format, which can be viewed by a bunch of players, mostly Quicktime. I prefer VLC player myself though.

Onwards (backwards??) to the photos section, again things are split up into eras, but also they have sub sections like Women (1850 to 1920, 1920 to 1940, and 1940 to 1969), Girl Girl, Sex, and BDSM.

Pretty interesting the old BDSM stuff, can’t say I’ve seen much of that at other retro vintage porn sites such as Delta of Venus. A nice inclusion.

Obviously the quality varies for everything here, but overall I’d say it’s pretty exceptional quality wise, all things considered. I mean you gotta take what you can get, right? I also noticed that they went back and re-encoded some of their videos, which is always nice. Wish more sites would spend time fixing up their original videos!

In addition to the photos and retro porn flicks, you’ll find a cool art section that features the work of J de Chanteau from the 1920’s, Agostino Caracci from Italy in the 1500’s, Suzanne Ballivet from the mid 1900’s, and more. Some of the other artists included are Paul Avril, Paul Emile Becat, Mihaly Zichy, Franz von Bayros, and some other unknown artists.

Still want more old stuff? Head over the literature section for some vintage stories, fiction excerpts and old sexual poetry.

Completing the mix are some articles explaining about porn back in the day, and an “other diversions” section with audio recordings, word origins and suggested reading.

I liked the personal touch and extra info this site provides, plus a big archive of vintage porn. Can’t really go wrong here if this is your thing. I have to say it’s pretty interesting to see some real life from way back.
